AT AN ADJOURNED MEETING of the Nelson County Board of Supervisors (from
April 20, 2006) at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room located in the Nelson
County Courthouse.
Present: Harry S. Harris, Chairman
Thomas H. Bruguiere, Vice-Chairman
Constance Brennan, Central District Supervisor
Thomas D. Harvey, North District Supervisor
Allen Hale, East District Supervisor
Stephen A. Carter, Clerk
Debra K. McCann, Director of Finance and Human Resources
Linda Staton, Finance and Human Resources Technician
I. Call to Order
Mr. Harris called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. with four members
present to establish a quorum for the scheduled work session (with Ms.
Brennan arriving at 6:20 p.m.).
III. Work Session on Fiscal Year 2006-20067 Budget
The Board of Supervisors continued work on Nelson County’s Fiscal Year
2006-2007 Budget, reviewing the expenditure side of the ensuing fiscal
year’s budget proposal. Changes made to the FY 06-07 Budget
proposal by the Board during the session included increasing funding to
Piedmont Virginia Community College by four percent (from $8,500 to
$8,840) and a reduction in the Department of Parks and Recreation
budget from $6,000 to $2,842 for maintenance of the Blue Ridge Railway
Trail. The work session concluded following review of the budget
for the Cooperative Extension Service and when the ensuing work session
commences will begin at Department 091000
(Non-Departmental). The Board of Supervisors then discussed
scheduling ensuing budget work sessions with concurrence for meetings
to be scheduled on May 2 and 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the boardroom located
in the Courthouse.

No other business was presented for consideration.
IV. Adjournment
On motion by Mr. Harvey, seconded by Mr. Bruguiere, the Board of
Supervisors voted 5-0 to adjourn the meeting to 6:00 p.m. on May 2,
2006 in the Boardroom located in the Nelson County Courthouse in
Lovingston, Virginia.
