PROPOSED ZONING & SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
PUBLIC HEARING GUIDELINES

We welcome you to this meeting of the Nelson County Planning Commission. The Commission is meeting to consider items that are of concern to County citizens and wishes to hear from every person who wants to comment on the proposed Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance amendments. To give everyone a fair and equitable chance to speak in an orderly fashion, we will follow these guidelines for the public hearing:

•    If you wish to speak during the public hearing, please sign up on the sheet outside the auditorium.
•    Individuals will be given three (3) minutes to speak, which are not transferable to another speaker.
•    Speakers for organizations will be given five (5) minutes to speak, which are not transferable to another speaker. Each organization may have one representative.
•    If additional time is needed to speak, you may sign up again after other speakers have addressed the Commission.
•    Address your comments to the Commission, not to others in the room. Please restrict your comments to the issue being considered and not to personalities or other non-related matters.
•    Refrain from displays of support or opposition.
•    Refrain from carrying on a conversation while a speaker is addressing the Commission.
