There was no public comment.

Chairperson Taylor called the meeting to order.

Motion: To approve the May 3, 2007 meeting minutes. Powell-Hall (4-0)

Alphonso Taylor reported that he attended the May 21, 2007 board of supervisor’s public hearing on the budget and offered the EDA’s resolution to fund one-half of the FY 2008 contribution to the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development. The board will vote on the budget at their June 12, 2007 meeting.

The workshop with the Charlottesville IDA is set for June 4, 2007 from 9:30 am – noon at the Central Virginia Electric Cooperative.

Natt Hall expressed his enthusiasm for the broadband planning process and noted that the EDA might play a role in the implementation of the project with a bond issue for the infrastructure improvements.

Motion: To extend the settlement date for the contract and purchase of the Callohill property until September 30, 2007 and authorize the chairperson to execute the amended contract. Powell-Hall (4-0)

Motion: To end regular session and move into closed session to discuss real estate matters under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act 2.2-3700.
