Gail Troy presented information about the Nelson County adult education program. She reviewed the free Adult GED classes offered and the "Race to GED" program (1-877-37-MY-GED). Montie Pritchett noted that during the recent Target Market Study work session, one of the local industries had mentioned problems with employees' math skills. Gail Troy said that the Adult Education program could tailor and administer a program for the employer designed to assist employees with the math skills specific to the employer's industry. The Authority members asked Maureen Corum to follow up with the business to make that offer available.
Stu Armstrong reported the following funds:
Money Market as of 8/31/04 - $63,204
CD as of 8/31/04 - $108,895

Stu Armstrong noted approximately $12,000 in expected expenses by year-end.
