Ann Cheeks Mixed Media – Places Loved – Painting and Collage Workshop:  Please join us at The Meeting Place for this fantastic weekend.  Ann Cheeks has been an “artist” since she was a little girl, creating things on paper, on the sewing machine, and in the kitchen.  Her first medium was mud, then pencil and paper.  She moved on to fabric and anything else she could get her hands on.  She knew that Art School was her only option, so she applied to and was accepted by VCU at age sixteen.  After college, Ann worked as a graphic designer (pre-computer) for 12 years with mostly environmental clients.  Ann has recently been focusing on drawing and experimenting with mediums, and developed a technique using fabric, an acrylic medium and pastels to create a painting.  While at the workshop, Ann will focus on her techniques, using photographs or the natural surroundings of The Meeting Place.   434-361-2380
