The Sospiro Winds, a quintet of musicians from Yale, are recent winners of the Silver Medal at the prestigious 2007 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. They will be performing an interesting and varied program ranging from music by Paul Taffanal, the 19th century founder of modern French school of flute playing, to the elegant and charming music of Jean Francaix and including works by contemporary American composers Elliot Carter and Donald Hagar.
