Hurricanes
The 2006 hurricane season may produce up to 17 names storms, 9
hurricanes and 5 intense hurricanes, according to hurricane experts.
The probability for at least one major category 3, 4 or 5 hurricane
landfalls on the East Coast is 64%, 33 points over the average for the
last century.
Many
people believe that a major hurricane cannot affect them or that there
is nothing they can do to protect themselves. But, it could happen to
you, and there are simple, low cost steps families and businesses can
take to get ready.
