Position: Full-time Recreation Technician

Hiring Range: $24,591 - $27,823

Closing Date: June 30, 2009

Beginning Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities include assisting Director in organizing, directing, and promoting Parks & Recreation programs for all age groups, maintaining all Parks and Recreation facilities, performs general office duties, organizes, directs & supervises subordinate Parks & Recreation staff. Must have general knowledge of recreation, organized athletics, and lifetime leisure principles and activities, knowledge of standard office methods and record keeping, and working knowledge of PC applications. Must be able to communicate courteously and effectively with the public in oral and written form and organize large groups and events, Preferred but not requiredd education equivalent to junior college or 2 years of college training. CPR & 1st Aid Certification and Commercial Driver's License is recommended but must be obtained within first year of employment.

Position: Animal Control Officer Part-time

Hourly Range: $11.26 âАУ $12.74

Closing Date: Until filled by qualified applicant

Beginning Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities include cleaning and feeding at animal shelter, euthanasia of rabid and unclaimed animals, impoundment of abandoned and stray animals, and investigation and processing of dog bite and other cases. Requires education equivalent to high school graduation. Certification in Basic Animal Control and Firearms is recommended but may be obtained within first year of employment. 20/35 hours per week.
