Residential Solid Waste
Solid waste is the third largest expenditure for the county. To provide a cleaner safer system that is economical, the county will consolidate and create staffed collection centers.
In February 2005 the first staffed collection site was opened on Rockfish School Lane. This center is located between the
Rockfish Valley Community Center (RVCC) and the Ruritan Park. There are 3
concrete pads for compactors and multiple recycling containers. A
separate entrance and exit allow traffic to flow smoothly.
The collection center is be open daily except major holidays and
during heavy snow days.
Until consolidation is complete the following sites are available for use. These sites are common public areas and should be given the same respect as public parks. Please, put all trash in the containers and pick up any loose debris. Your neatness will encourage neatness in others.
