Cardinal Point Winery
Set
in the rolling hillsides below Afton Mountain with Blue Ridge
Mountain views, this vineyard and winery is a great destination
for wine lovers and people who want to see and learn about
winegrowing in Virginia. A knowledgeable and friendly staff
and video documentary allow for review of year round activities
such as pruning, harvesting, crushing and bottling. Taste a
spectrum of red and white wine styles, all friendly but with surprising

DelFosse Vineyards and Winery

in Spring 2005, Nelson County's seventh winery is located north of
Lovingston off of Route 29. One unique feature of the
property is the opportunity to hike more than 5 miles of trails in the
Deer Rock Orchard.

Flying Fox Vineyard
Nelson's newest tasting room is open Friday through Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
"Our best wine is the one you enjoy the most." Flying Fox Vineyard began with the planting of our vines in 2000. We love to grow grapes, but making wine is a close second. Our wine production is very limited but we have Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, Chardonnay, and red and white table wines, both of which are lightly sweet. The red grapes are grown in our personal 6 acre vineyard in Afton and the Viognier is from the vineyard of family members Jon and Jane Zieman in the Shenandoah Valley. This is
Virginia grape growing at its best. Our friends helped us plant the grapes, and help us harvest the grapes, enjoy our wines with your friends too!

Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery

leader in Virginia's specialty wine industry, Hill Top produces a
unique experience for fruit lovers and historians alike, with "True to
the Fruit" wines and historical meads from dry to sweet. Offering
indoor and outdoor meeting facilities, picnic area, gift shop,
historical tour, daily wine and food pairings, seasonal blackberries,
cabin style lodging. Hours: Wednesday through Saturday 11-5
Sunday 1-5; extended hours for blackberry season. Closed Easter,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Eve, New Years Day. Tasting fees:
up to six wines, free; complete tasting of wines, $2.00 refunded with

Wintergreen Winery

Located in the beautiful Rockfish Valley on the eastern slope of the
Blue Ridge near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Wintergreen Resort, the
winery offers spectacular scenery throughout the seasons. A wide array
of premium wines are produced including Black Rock Chardonnay,
Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Raspberry Dessert.
Nestled inside a 19th century farm building is the state-of-the-art
winery operation, a comfortable tasting room and one of the finest
winery gift shops in the state. A scenic picnic area is available near
the South fork of the Rockfish River. Winery and gift shop open daily
year round for complimentary tastings, tours, and shopping. (Please
